ABOUT

ABOUT

Situated on its own peninsula at the intersection of the North River, Oakland Creek and Greenmansion Cove, Channelside has been an important Mobjack Bay navigational beacon since it was originally built in the early twentieth century. The Bryan Family purchased the property in 1992 and has overseen the evolution of the local landmark into a multi-purpose, world-class resort known as The Greenbryan that has attracted guests from around the world.

The Greenbryan offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking to  race jet skis around  the open waters at 55mph, have Captain Bon chauffeur your tour of the North River with a cocktail in your hand,  learn what it means to "come about" on a sail boat, or simply read a book and be left alone, you will find it here.

Guests are also treated to a dining experience most say deserves a Michelin Star. Our Executive, Sous, and Pastry Chef Barbara Bryan is a unicorn master-of-all traits who specializes in Thai, Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Peruvian, Mexican, and American flavors. And we haven't even mentioned our daily cheese boards, rotating cocktail menus and mouth-watering homemade desserts!

And all of this is less than an hour's drive from Williamsburg, Richmond and Newport News and only two hours from our nation's capital. Needless to  say, Channelside's Resort has long been a favorite destination of  business leaders, scientists, scholars,  traveling artists and priests in training.

You'll find endless possibilities at The Greenbryan, we can't wait to host you!

THE GREENBRYAN RE-IMAGINED

Channelside was forever changed  in September 2003 when the storm surge from Hurricane Isabel resulted in four feet of river water rushing through the house, destroying almost everything in its path. The structure was not salvageable and was donated to the Mathews County Fire Department to be used for training purposes.

Its doors were closed for almost three years while property restoration, elevation creation and construction efforts were conducted by well-renowned, and always-punctual architect, Sir Alexander Post. In March 2006, The Greenbryan welcomed its resident guests back while construction was finishing. By June of that same year, despite construction still happening, The Greenbryan hosted its first major event - a 2006 Mathews High School Graduation Party - and has never looked back.

Channelside's second act, situated on a hill built out of 1,750 dump-truck-loads of dirt, offers world class guest rooms overlooking the water, a private Bunkhouse Estate perfect for families with young children, and a plethora of indoor, outdoor, and water activities so that everyone is certain to find something for them.

Explore your personal 12 acre peninsula playground and discover an unparalleled selection of luxury leisure pursuits and outdoor adventures designed to satisfy and stimulate your widest range of interests.
